Wann wird eine Katarakt operiert- idealer Zeitpunkt einer Katarakt OP.
When to operate?
As part of a planned cataract operation, the patient can choose between having a multifocal or a monofocal lens fitted.
The “right” time for an operation differs from person to person. Normally, we recommend that our patients have an operation when their eyesight is no longer sufficient for their everyday life. This is the case, for example, if a person has sight problems in the household, at work or when driving.
However, it is never too late to have a cataract operation or to have a multifocal lens fitted.
It is in the interest of often elderly patients to not wait too long, since the quality of life is usually significantly improved by the operation. The lens strength is calculated relatively precisely before the operation. Rehabilitation after the operation takes place very quickly.
Artificial lenses have already been successfully implanted for over thirty years. The lenses last a lifetime.
Whether a patient needs glasses after the operation depends mainly on individual demands. Multifocal lenses allow both distance and near vision.
