After the operation
Since the natural lens has been removed, cataract recurrence is not possible. However, it is possible that the lens capsule that was left in the eye to receive the artificial lens will become cloudy again after some months or years. This is known as a secondary cataract. This is unavoidable, but can be treated permanently on an out-patient basis with a small laser operation.
