Das LASIK Prinzip – Die neueste Lasertechnologie
The LASIK principle – the latest laser technology
LASIK is a procedure for correcting various types of refractive error. The combination of precision surgery and ultra-modern laser technology allows correction of myopia up to about minus 10 dioptres, hyperopia up to around plus 4 dioptres and astigmatism up to approximately 4 dioptres. During correction, the inner part of the cornea is modelled by the laser beam. The sensitive corneal surface remains intact and is punctured only by a fine incision.
Picture descriptions
- First the eye is positioned and held by suction.
- A wafer-thin flap of the cornea is then created by incision.
- The flap is folded back.
- The exposed stroma is remodelled to the necessary thickness at the positions calculated by a computer.
- The flap is folded back and is immediately held in position by the eye. This is a natural wound closure.
